I have a lot on my plate, juggling full-time work and several creative businesses, my love of rugby, a board role and mentoring a couple of fabulous women. Most of the time I can balance this well, and sometimes I vegetate in front of the tv.

You don't need to be 'busy' for the sake of being busy, and you definitely don't need to follow in my footsteps, but there is great peace in doing something with our time other than watching reality tv shows.

I was reading a great post from Seth Godin the other day, where he suggested things to do with your time instead of nothing. Some of these I already do, but there was a host of valuable ideas.

Perhaps some of these ideas will inspire you to make the most of your time, and to do something you truly love, and perhaps it will lead somewhere bigger and greater:

  • Publish a daily blog
  • Volunteer to tutor someone
  • Write hand-written thank you notes every evening to the people who did good by you
  • Play a game of scrabble
  • Read a book
  • Make a quilt
  • Cook for the people in your neighbourhood
  • Paint something for your house, or your house
  • Learn photography
What do you do with your nothing time?
Does anything here grab you?
What would you suggest we do with that time?
