Jane Eyre remains one of my favourite stories, and I appreciate her forthrightness and her strong sense of self.

In this series, I use pastel and crayon to create marks inspired by the text on the specific page.

These pages (page 34 and 39) include Jane's first interactions with Mr Brocklehurst from the Lowood Academy and Mrs Reed's continuing censure.
