I own more than a dozen copies of Jane Eyre. While Mr Rochester hasn't really survived a modern reading, Jane certainly has.

In this series, I use pastel and crayon to create marks inspired by the text on the specific page.

These pages (page viii and 13) include an editor's note and the overwhelming emotion of being shut in Mr Reed's room. Jane's strong imagination takes hold.
